Some of our classes had an EGGciting easter day!
Our girls lost out to an excellent St. Helen's side Tuesday in their second round game. Despite two well taken goals from Freya and Elsa they couldn't catch the Portmarnock side.
They are now out of the cup but gave two excellent displays and gave the entire senior building a very exciting game in the first round. Well Done Girls! Hard luck to the Boys soccer team who narrowly lost out to Sacred Heart N.S. Clondalkin in the 1st round of the Pegasus Cup. The boys were really unlucky to lose out to two late goals, having led for most of the match.
Well done boys, you represented yourselves and the school so well in tough conditions!
Well done to all of the students who participated in our annual Spelling Bee competition in both buildings on Tuesday.
Keep up the great work with your spellings. We had a really fun Book Week Congratulations to the boys and girls who took part in the FAI 5 a side tournament for primary schools on Monday and Wednesday in Rivervalley. A great day out for St. Laurence's.
Thanks to all the parents for providing transport. Our senior girls' soccer team had their first competitive match ever this Friday. They played brilliantly and won 6-0.
Well done especially to the girls who played their first ever soccer game and to Leah, Nicole, Elsa and Hayley who scored. In our February Assembly we heard from the boys' and girls' soccer teams who will be playing very shortly.
We also found out who won a number of awards. The Green Schools Committee reminded the school about the important work they are doing. The Student Council discussed their work and talked to the junior building pupils about what they would like to make the school a better place. Finally we sang our school theme song Count on Me |
