There was great excitement in St. Laurence’s N.S. today when Buddy Reading returned for the first time since February 2020. The children from the Senior Building visited their reading buddies in the Junior Building and read wonderful stories to the children. Some lovely picture books were shared with the children – Maybe by Chris Haughton and There’s a Ghost in this House by Oliver Jeffers. Everyone is looking forward to the next Buddy Reading outing before our Hallowe’en break.

In the Junior Building we got a completely new roof, while in the Senior Building we got new doors, ramps and cover on the shelters.

]]><![CDATA[School Tours]]>Wed, 29 Jun 2022 08:18:24 GMThttps://www.stlaurencesbaldoyle.org/notice-board/school-toursThe boys and girls in both the senior and junior buildings enjoyed school tours with their classes.

Tours included TaytoPark for 6th Class, 5th class went to Causey Farm, 4th class went to the Sealife Aquarium in Bray and bowling and 3rd class had a fun day at the Greenan Maze in Wicklow.

In the junior building 2nd Class enjoyed a day out to the the DSPCA, 1st class and Senior Infants enjoyed a trip to Newbridge Farm and Junior Infants enjoyed the butterfly house and fairy trail at Malahide Castle.

Ms Kelly’s Junior Infants read and listened to the wonderful picture book, Maybe by Chris Haughton. 
The children really enjoyed the story and even drew their own interpretation of the illustrations afterwards. 
The lucky children even had the story read to them again by some of their older reading buddies!
