School Year 2019/2020
Nothing is normal right now so we've made a Hub for families looking for information about our school during the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope this page will help answer nearly all of your questions, but if not, please email us at [email protected] and we'll try our best to help. Please don't phone the office. Keep Happy and Safe, Ms. Finnerty & all the staff in St. Laurence's NS I can't log into my child's accounts!Email [email protected] with "Can't login to Google Classroom" in the subject line and someone will get you sorted. You need to email your child’s name and the class he/she is in so we can find him/her easily. I don't have any textbooksWe distributed all children’s books/photocopies to families during Phase 1 when we were allowed back into school. Book rental books were photocopied and these photocopies were distributed/ If you need anything else there is more information on your child's Google Classroom (right back at the start in March!) about how to login to the publishers online. (Note some of these websites can't handle the site traffic so all teachers are taking screen shots of the work to make it much easier for you and your child). I would like to know what will happen in SeptemberOnce we have any information from the Department of Education we will let you know straight away. We have gotten no clarification yet and we are eagerly awaiting this information too as we can't wait to have all the boys and girls back. My children really miss schoolWe are really missing being in school too. All the teachers are working really hard on getting fun and engaging activities for the boys and girls on their Google Classroom page, and we have a list of fun events that we will be doing in June too, such as a School Tour Day, Mindfulness/Wellbeing/Friendship Day, Sports Day. All this information will be in your child's Google Classroom page. The teachers are really busy creating resources, lessons, activities, correcting work and communicating with pupils through the Google Classroom everyday so if you want to message your teacher you can do this through the daily assignment in Google Classroom (please don't pick an assignment from a few weeks ago as the teachers might not see these). Please do upload photos, videos, voice recordings of work, or whatever you want really, and your child's teacher will respond to your child. |
Google ClassroomDuring this current school closure St. Laurence's NS will be using Google Classroom to upload work every day for your child.
Teachers will be able to communicate with your child through the private message feature of the assignment within Google Classroom once you upload school work. Please upload photos, videos, voice recordings or whatever you want and your child's teacher will respond to your child.
