What an amazing day at Science Blast!
A huge well done to the children in the senior building who participated in Science Blast this year! They worked incredibly hard in preparation for today and should be so proud of themselves! We came home with 4 Science Blast plaques this year! Congratulations to Ms Ryan, Ms Stephenson, Ms Fogarty and Ms Whelan’s classes. Each group: Chose their own testable question. Predicted the outcome. Researched their topic. Carried out a fair test investigation. Presented their findings. Evaluated possible changes and explored future testable questions. Our testable questions were: -Which coloured paper makes you remember best? (Ms Stephenson 4th Class). -Does playing video games improve brain power? (Ms Ryan 4th Class). -What protective design best protects an egg from breaking when dropped? (Ms Whelan 5th Class). -Does our sense of smell impact our taste? (Ms Fogarty 5th Class). Maith sibh! Ms Motyer’s class created lovely Valentine’s Day pictures and had great fun posing at the heart background!
We had lots of fun in school marking Grandparents' Day. The grandparents of our pupils in first class also got to come in and celebrate this special day in our school.
Ms Fahey’s and Ms Duggan’s classes were challenged with creating Santa’s workshop or Santa’s sleigh using Lego, they made some excellent creations!
Ms Walsh's class had great fun creating posters for a competition entitled "The Ultimate Santa Experience". They worked together to create an advertising poster that would appeal to adults and children alike. Maith sibh rang a cúig!
We had lots of fun at our Buddy Reading where we read Christmas books and exchanged Christmas cards with our buddies
This year we organised a Charity Raffle for the local St. Vincent de Paul. Many thanks for all the support Ms Motyer’s class had so much fun during their ‘Exercise to Music’ PE class with Sean from ‘Daly Exercise’. Thanks Sean!
Last week was Clean Air Week! Ms Crosse and Ms Fahey’s classes had a visitor from Green Schools to give us a clean air workshop and Ms Carroll’s, Ms Foley’s and Ms Crosse’s created paintings with straws for the Lung Art Competition!
Odd Socks DayOdd Socks Day marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Odd Socks Day 2025 took place on Monday 10th November.
We had a very busy day on Thursday with our annual Cake Sale in the Junior Building and our dress up day too. It was lots of fun.
